MasterChef winner plans to open Manchester restaurant

MasterChef winner, Simon Wood has revealed big plans to open a restaurant in Manchester. The Oldham cook and last winner of the BBC One cookery show has let slip that he has been on the hunt for premises in the Northern Quarter, where if everything goes to plan he will be opening his first restaurant later on this year.

He’s in search for a place that’s both relaxed and contemporary, with a sophisticated feel and plans to cater for all times of the day – from breakfast and right through to tea-time/after work. He has said that in time he would also like the restaurant to stay open late, enabling customers to receive a late-night dining experience.

In addition to this the upcoming leading chef has also been busy creating his first cook book which will be available for purchase on April 11th2016. He has also been honing his cooking skills at his local football club where he creates seasonally-changing menus and hosts regular events which he names ‘Dine with Simon’.
